GNSS observation is one of the important technical means for China Seismic Experimental Sites.  In the project of Crustal Movement Observation Network of China (CMONOC), there are 52 continuous fiducial GNSS stations and 198 mobile regional GNSS stations in Sichuan-Yunnan region. Since 2008 after the Wenchuan earthquake, a number of institutions have adopted various projects to deploy GNSS continuous stations in Sichuan, Yunnan, Shanxi and Gansu province based on CMONOC. There are 110 GNSS continuous stations in operation by the Institute of Earthquake Forecasting (IEF) of the China Earthquake Administration (CEA), including 89 stations in Sichuan-Yunnan region and 21 stations in Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia province. It is planned to complete and operate about 200 GNSS continuous stations in the Sichuan-Yunnan region from 2018 to 2021.

The GNSS Data Center of China Seismic Experimental Sites, established at IEF, is responsible for collecting, managing and sharing service of GNSS observation data, products and research result.

The mission of GNSS Data Center is to form and promote standardized data management and service, to support interdisciplinary works and international collaboration.
